How do I know if I have to go to Defensive Driving class?
The Georgia State Patrol can give you that information, but generally speaking, you must attend class for Under Age 21 Revocations, Points Reduction, Points Suspension, and Insurance Reduction.  There are some other driving infractions that may require the class.

Do I have to go to Defensive Driving for one ticket?
If a driver under 21 years of age receives a ticket that reflects 4 or more points, your license is revoked and you must attend class for reinstatement of your license.

What if I have points on my license for tickets?
If a driver is over 21 years old, a total of 15 points will suspend your license.  The Defensive Driving class will take 7 points off your driving record.  You may attend Defensive Driving once each 5 years to reduce accumulated points.

Can I get lower Insurance if I go?
Yes, in many cases. But check with the Insurance Company or agent to be sure.
